Two people have died in a road traffic accident when the vehicle they were in overturned along Great East road at Hybrid roundabout.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said the accident happened when a 16-year-old boy driving Toyota Allion failed to negotiate a curve at the roundabout thereby careering off the road and overturned.
Ms Katongo said Daniel Tembo Jnr 16, of Libala driving a Toyota Allion registration number BAG 3241ZM heading to Eastern Province with fellow boys when the car overturned.
She said on board were Anold Ngwira 21, of Kabwata Estates who sustained internal injuries and died on the spot and Joseph Mwala 20, of Lusaka’s Mtendere Compound who sustained head injuries and died at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital.
Ms Katongo said Tembo Jr who complained of general body pains and was admitted at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital.
She said the injured were Kapakala Chooye 17, of Kabwata who complained of general body pains and Benjamin Malupande 16 of Libala Stage 3 who complained of general body pains, both were treated and discharged.
She said this occurred on January 13, 2020 along Great East road at Hybrid roundabout around 22:20hours.
Bodies of are in Levy Mwanawasa Hospital.
