Chililabombwe District Commissioner Precious Njekwa has called on all stakeholders and institutions to utilize the border market and positively contribute to the sustainable development of the district.
Ms Njekwa said Chililabombwe is a critical district in terms of trade because of the readily available market for products at Kasumbalesa border.
Speaking at a District Development Coordinating Committee (DDCC) meeting, she said stakeholder in the district should re-engage themselves for sustainability and take advantage of international trade at Kasumbalesa .
“As members of the District Development Coordinating Committee (DDCC) you have solutions to challenges faced in the district, province and nation at large,” she said.
Ms Nkjekwa said in order to improve trade at the border and movement of goods and services that are beneficial to both local and international traders team work will be required.
She said that government priority is to complete the Kasumbalesa road network this year under the Public Private Partnership.
Ms Njekwa has also challenged the DDCC members to take up the mantle to contribute fully to the development of Chililabombwe district.
