The Zambia Alliance of Women (ZAW) has appealed to government to consider developing a model and package that will go towards women groups and cooperatives across the country.
Alliance Programmes Manager Ceasar Katebe said the move is important as it would alleviate the suffering of women in the country.
Mr Katebe said that women were the most affected by floods and the effects of Covid 19 hence the need to render them some assistance.
“We are aware that women were greatly impacted by covid 19 especially those that are managing cooperatives and women groups.
“We are also alive to the fact that it is the women that provide the much needed support in terms of Labour. It is only prudent that the ministry of Finance as well as aligned ministries provide some form of stimulus package tailored towards the women,” he said.
