Suspected thief of Zesco installation electrocuted

A suspected thief of Zesco installation has been electrocuted and died on the spot.

A man of Lusaka only identified as Hillary aged between 25 and 30 has been electrocuted after he allegedly attempted to interfere with a Zesco Transformer.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said the incident happened in the early hours of today, April 18, 2020 between midnight and 06:00 hours in Kanyama west compound.

“Police who visited the scene found the body of the Hillary lying under the Zesco transformer and had gloves on. A cutter was also found on the scene. No damage has been caused to the installation.

“The body has been taken to UTH mortuary,” Ms Katongo said.
