Unknown Criminals have attacked three apartments at Swazi pack Flats near Life Cathedral Church in Chingola’s Nchanga South area.
The seven masked criminals were armed with machetes and iron bars and are suspected to be ex-convict recently released from prison.
The criminals attacked Rhodah Kunda 20 of flat number 1 Swazi pack and Wenmei Yao 36, of flat number 2 and the security guard.
Copperbelt Police Acting Commanding Officer Sharon Zulu said on July 10, 2022 around 01:00hrs the security guard under Magnum security William Mukosha 62, was attacked by seven criminals who were armed with machetes and iron bars also wearing masks.
Ms Zulu said the security guard was beaten by criminals and sustained painful ribs, painful left leg and general body pains, he was also tied up on both hands and taken in the guard house where one of the criminals was left to guard him.
She said the other six proceeded to flat number 2 where they attacked Wenmei Yao a Chinese National and robbed her of a blue laptop bag containing K35, 000 and a pistol make, serial number and number of ammunitions not yet known.
The same criminals also went on and broke into flat 1 where Rhodah who stays with her elder sister Michelo Likelo 27, was also attacked and robbed of cash money amounting to 4.000 US Dollars plus K700 which was in the purse of her sister Michelo who was not at home around that time and a Samsung phone 51A value not yet known.
Ms Zulu said one of the occupants of flat number 3 Lucky Simukanga 30, was in deep sleep when he overheard a voice of a woman shouting for help he woke up and discovered that his neighbors of flat number 1 and 2 were attacked by criminals and immediately went to Chingola Police station and reported the matter.
She said the criminals entered the yard by jumping over the wall fence and the same used as an exit.
“The scene of crime was visited and processed Medical report form was issued to the security guard. And a docket of case opened no arrest or recovery has been made yet.
“However Investigations have been instituted in the matter and it is reading to some ex- convicts who were realized from prisons recently,” she said.
