Zambia has held Cameroon to a goalless draw in their opening 2022 Women’s Africa Cup match played in Marrakech, Morocco on Sunday evening.
Unlucky Cameroon had a late goal in the second half stoppage time ruled out for offside in this Group B match.
Cameroon captain Gabrielle Onguene’s goal was disallowed with VAR confirming that indeed it was offside.
Shepolopolo defender Lushomo Mweemba six minutes earlier had cleared a goal bound header when advancing keeper Hazel Nali was beaten off her line.

Zambia had missed some few opportunities in both halves with captain Grace Chanda and striker Avell Chitundu being the main culprits.
Shepolopolo’s next match is against Tunisia on July 6 on the same day Cameroon will face Togo.
Tunisia and Togo are the other teams in Group B.
