An- unknown person in Chingola’s Mikiloni Township has dumped a still born baby aged between 7 and 8 months old in someone’s yard.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said the incident occurred between January 17 and 18, 2023 at unknown time at the house of Moses Mutale 54 , who reported at Chiwempala Police station that an unknown person damped a still born baby in his yard.
Mr Mweemba said brief facts are that on January 17 2023, Mutale went to sleep and 0n January 18, when he woke up in the morning, he found a dumped dead body of a baby in his yard.
He said Police visited the scene and confirmed the incident.
M Mweemba said the body was picked with the help of environmental health personnel and was later buried at Chiwempala cemetery.
He said investigations have been instituted into the matter.
Meanwhile Police are also investigating a case in which a 12-year-old girl of Kasompe’s Airport area was defiled by a man she can identify if seen.
Mr Mweemba said the victim was walking alone, along the road within Airport area when she met a man who asked her to assist him carry oranges.
He said the man then took advantage and dragged her in the nearby bush and defiled her.
She did not inform her parents on that day until January 18, 2023, when she informed her father of what transpired to her the previous day.
The matter was reported to the police and medical report form issued.
