Over 40 workers from Stone King Construction Company of Lusaka have down tools demanding for their unpaid salaries for three months.
The construction company is based in Lusaka has a contract in Solwezi.
Raphael Mukomongo who spoke on behalf of others said Stone King Construction Company owes the workers’ salaries for three months.
Mr Mukomongo said that their Director Gregory Tembo has gone back to Lusaka and he has been avoiding phone calls for the workers.
He also said that all workers are just demanding for their money to help them solve their problems.
The over 40 Workers stormed the office of Solwezi District Commissioner Tradeson Mulofwa seeking his interventions to help the people of Solwezi get their money.
And the DC Tradeson Mulofwa has assured the workers of stone that his office has engaged the contractor on the matter.
Mr Mulofwa said that Mr Tembo has committed to ensure that the workers are paid their dues by this week.
However stone King construction company Director Gregory Tembo has refused to Make a comment to the media stating that the matter has been tabled with prescribed organization and Department.
