Parliament is scheduled to be dissolved this week by President Edgar Lungu in preparation for the fourth coming general election.
In this vain, Ndola central constituency Member of Parliament Emmanuel Mulenga has taken time to thank electorates in his constituency for the role they have played during his time in office.
Speaking during a rally at Chibolelo combined school grounds in Chipulukusu ward, yesterday, Mr Mulenga said that the party in the constituency and ward have fulfilled the mandate given to them by the people.
“As my tenure of office comes to an end with the dissolution of parliament this week, I would like to continue representing the people of Ndola central constituency by re-contesting the sit.
“If re-adopted by party, people in my constituency should give me and my team other projects to carry out looking at the fulfillment of projects people wanted when I was ushered into office. I would like to commend the church for always being the guidance to the nation, government and its leadership over the years,” he said
Mr Mulenga said that the clergy and the church have been critical to the execution of his duties further urging the church to continue working with leaders to help foster development and good morals.
The lawmaker who is also minister of youth, sport and child development stated that the youths in the church should take advantage of the empowerment program being undertaken by the ministry to empower youths in markets.
And speaking when he represented the clergy in Ndola central constituency from Christian kings church bishop David Ngo’na commended the lawmaker for the works done during his time in office and working with the church.
“The Member of Parliament has played a huge role in working with the church of the years hence we have declared our support to him in the fourth coming general election,” the bishop said.
