Some Ndola Teachers protest demanding payroll

Over-30-teachers in Ndola matched to the Ministry of Education Provincial Office over Government’s delay to put them on payroll since 2021.

The teachers who peacefully staged a protest at the Provincial Education Officer’s office said since they were recruited in 2021 but all they get is assurances that since they have appointment letters all shall be well.

Euphemia Yusifu one of the aggrieved Teachers said Government should not delay the process any further as they have been working since 2021 without being paid.

Ms Yusifu said that the office of the PEO should give them the correct position because government is talking of another recruitment while their salaries haven’t been paid.

Mwaba Mwabo another teacher said Government should address their grievances as they want to know the way forward.

Meanwhile Provincial Education Officer Steven Chishiko assured the aggrieved teachers that Government is working on their issue and will soon be put on payroll.

Dr Chishiko has appealed to the teachers to exercise patient as the provincial administration is sorting the out the issue.
