Some Bars, Trading places closed down in Mufulira

The Local Authorities in Mufulira have closed down some Bars and trading places for non-compliance to Covid-19 guidelines.

Mufulira Mayor Tanaeli Kamanga yesterday did a random inspection of public places that included taxi and bus stations, restaurants, bars and trading places.

Mr Kamanga found that some bars and restaurants were operating outside the law as some bars were found opened as early as 06 hours.

The Mayor called on Mufulira residents to strictly adhere to the five golden rules of Covid-19 adding that the objective of the Local Authorities in the district is to see a Covid free Mufulira city.

He was accompanied by some health personnel who also took some time to sensitize the public on the importance of been vaccinated.

Mr Kamanga was happy to note that half of the population is vaccinated and he commended the health workers and the council for coordinating well in the vaccination exercise.

And some bus Drivers in the district have appealed to the Local Authorities to provide them with Covid-19 protective gear such as hand wash buckets and spray guns to be spraying their Vehicles before the passengers get on board.
