Solwezi Municipal Council Has donated baby hampers to 19 new born babies from five health facilities in Solwezi district.
Solwezi Municipal Council Mayor Remmy Kalepa in the company of Loves Soneka Kamalamba ward and Devy Mubiana kyalalankuba ward Councilor handed over the hampers to the babies at Solwezi General Hospital, Kimasala clinic, urban clinic, Zambia compound clinic and Kazomba clinic.
“Children and the babies are a gift from God who deserve to be supported and helped by all well-meaning citizens,” he said.
“As the Local Authority in our pursuit to save the community better we took time to celebrate the new year 2022 with the parents and the new born babies in our district ,”he said .
He said that the council bought 30 hampers meant for the new year babies at the cost of K33,000.
The Mayor said that the Local Authority will continue to deliver quality service to the people of Solwezi.
Mr Kalepa encouraged the parents of Solwezi to take good care of the children and avoid them from becoming street kids.
However, the mayor has thanked the nurses and doctors for the good services they are offering to the people of Solwezi.
