Solwezi Mayor Remmy Kalepa is saddened by the lack of water at Solwezi General Hospital for nearly a week.

And Mr Kalepa has since called upon stakeholders to join forces with the Local Authority to aid improve the water reticulation at the health facility.

Speaking during a spot check conducted at Solwezi General Hospital today, Mr Kalepa said that it is really sad that the Hospital has gone for so long without water, a situation which shouldn’t happen because water is life.

He has called on stakeholders to come on board and help the institution to restore supply of water as a matter of urgency as the facility has been depending on the North Western Water Supply and Sanitation Company (NWWSSC) Water Bowser since the disruption of water supply.

Solwezi General Hospital Head of Clinical Care Dr Davies Sasa has thanked the Mayor and Council Management for the continued support received by the institution in various issues

Dr Sasa said that the lack of water at the facility was as a result of the Borehole that had malfunctioned. He was however quick to state that the NWWSSC was engaged and have since provided water through a mobile water bowser.

He also said that the institution is open to any form of help that could be rendered to restore water as the Hospital has many activities that are dependent on sufficient supply of water.
