Following numerous complaints from the general public, Solwezi Municipal Council together with Zambia Police has today commenced a dog cropping exercise which will be conducted from 11th to 18th January 2022.
The dog cropping exercise is aimed at eliminating stray dog in the district in order to prevent against dog bites and rabies.
Solwezi residents are therefore advised to register, vaccinate and confine their dogs to avoid them being elimated.
According to provisions in the Control of Dogs Act Cap 247 of the laws of Zambia, the Local Authority is mandated to register and control the population of dogs .
