Socialist Party Copperbelt Province Spokesperson, Reagan Kashinga says the rampant corruption happening within the country is astonishing considering the high cost of living and economic instability.
Mr Kashinga said that the leaders responsible for fostering a conducive environment seem conspicuously absent instead preoccupied with self-enrichment at the expense of the Zambian people.
He accused the UPND Government, of prioritizing the interests of a privileged few over the well-being of the populace.
“This is a scandalous government the Stanley Kakubo case is a typical example of grand corruption that is in UPND government and the issue of Kakubo is just a tip of an iceberg with more going on. Even on the issue of the Black Mountain up to now no report has been given, not even in the Auditor’s General report,’’ he said.
Mr Kashinga said that the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) is the only Supreme Audit institute in Zambia mandated to audit all government institutions, parasternal organizations, statutory boards, donor funded.
He further wondered Republican President was quiet on certain issues that are currently happening in the country stating that silence can sometimes means consenting.
He urged leaders to recognize that political power is temporary and called attention to the pressing issues faced by Zambians, including the high cost of living and shortages of essential medical supplies in hospitals.
“As we approach 2026, Zambians are watching closely and have already made their decisions for the upcoming elections,” warned Kashinga, signaling a growing discontent that could shape the political landscape in the years to come.
