Socialist Party President Urges Former Police Chiefs to Guide Incumbents

By Staff Writer
President of the Socialist Party (SP), Fred M’membe has called on former Inspector Generals of Police (IGs) to share their expertise and experience with current Police Chiefs to prevent further damage to the Zambia Police Service.

Speaking at a funeral service for Damson Mumbi, a relative of former IG Dr. Martin Malama, M’membe emphasized the importance of knowledge transfer to avoid mistakes and move the country forward.

M’membe praised Dr. Malama, a well-liked IG, as an example of a experienced leader who could guide sitting IGs.

He stressed that the country cannot afford to continue moving backwards when it has experienced individuals who can offer valuable guidance.

The SP President’s remarks were made at a funeral church service at Northmead Assemblies of God on Saturday. The late Mumbi was the SP Parliamentary Candidate for Kanchibiya Constituency in the 2021 General Election.

This statement was issued by SP Director Media Brian Hapunda.
