Socialist Party candidate for Chisamba Council Chairperson has allegedly been killed and his body burnt by unknown people near Ngweleni Village where he had gone to do some business.
Central Province Police Commissioner Chola Katanga said it is suspected that an inflammable substance was used to burn the body after murdering the victim.
Mr Katanga said the body of Stallon Chobe 29, was later collected and deposited in Kabwe Central Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
He said this occurred between July 9, 2021 at unknown time and on 11th July, 2021 at 16:00 hours in the bush near Ngweleni Village in Kapiri Mposhi District.
“Police visited the scene of crime where the body was found burnt and also noticed a cut on the throat and a sharp instrument is suspected to have been used and the spillage of blood was seen around the scene. Investigations are on,” he said.
