SINOZAM Friendship Hospital in Kitwe on the Copperbelt has been shut down, for failing to meet required standards.
Among reasons for the closure is the alleged stocking of expired drugs, well poor infrastructure at the health facility.
Health Professional Council of Zambia -HPCZ- inspectors also found broken water supply pipes at the health facility, during a routine inspection exercise.

A ZNBC news crew that rushed to the hospital yesterday around 18:30 hours, found patients stranded outside the hospital, as it had been shut down.
And Charity Chanda, one of the expectant mothers found at the hospital, said there is urgent need to re-open the health facilities, as it will be a challenge to seek medical facilities from elsewhere.
But management at the hospital have refuted the allegations by officials from the Health Professional Council of Zambia.
SINOZAM Friendship Hospital Human Resource Manager, Justine Ndhlovu has told ZNBC news in an interview that the closure of the health facility will lead to congestion at Kitwe Teaching Hospital.
Earlier, Rokana Ward Councilor, Chilufya Chanda also said there is urgent need to re-open the facility as is it the only health centre, where people access CT Scan and X-Ray services, among other health services/ZNBC.
