Government Spokesperson Dora Siliya has called on Zambia Police to identify sponsors and perpetrators of violence in the just ended Sesheke by-elections.
The tweet by Ms Siliya seems to be the only sober statement coming from the ruling Patriotic Front after losing the Sesheke parliamentary seat.
Yesterday, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila was ranting accusing the opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema of sponsoring even police officers to attack PF.
Being plugged to the Executive under which police officers fall, Mr Mwila was the last person to have accused the officers of the President of the Republic where Mr Mwila too reports.
However, Ms Siliya says police have a task to identify the sponsors of violence and deal with them.
Violence in Sesheke. Once again we have failed to appreciate democracy is ideas not pangas, knives, guns etc.
It's time for the Police to identify who is the sponsor of violence in the PF and UPND and deal with them with no fear or favour.— Dora Siliya (@Dora_Siliya) February 12, 2019
