Zambia Police says the Minister of information and Broadcasting Dora Siliya is not running any empowerment programme as purposed by some online fraudsters.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said that there are social media scammers who have posted that the Minister is running an empowerment programme called Zambia Trust Fund Empowerment in Collaboration with Chanda Foundation.
Ms Katongo said a fake Green National Registration Card (NRC) for the Minister and some application forms were posted.
“Members of public are advised not to fall for the tricks of these fraudsters whose intention is to defraud unsuspecting members of the public as Ms Siliya has never advertised such an empowerment scheme,” she said.
She said investigations in the matter have been instituted.
