Siavonga has received 2240 by 12.5kg bags of Mealie-meal and 560 by 25kg bags of maize bran relief food from Government.
Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama has commended the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unity (DMMU) and food Reserve Agency (FRA) for providing both relief food and food for sale to the community.
Mr Kanyama said the food will be distributed to the intended people as soon as possible.
He has urged the distributor engaged, to quickly mobilize and move the food to the people immediately.
“I wish to commend my office staff for the continued coordination from their two (2) royal highnesses Chief Sinadambwe and Simamba, and civic leaders. I can describe it as very cordial in this time when our people are looking forward from us, as leaders to help them,” he said.
