Zambian striker Justin Shonga has joined the Egyptian side Ismaily Sporting Club.
The 24-year-old has penned a three-year deal. Shonga was a free agent after his contract ended with Cape Town City last July.
The former Nkwazi forward has also played for Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila F.C (TTM), and Orlando Pirates in the South African DSTV Premiership.
Shonga joined Pirates in September 2017 then under former Chipolopolo Boys head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic and was a key player for the Sea Robbers between 2017 and 2019.
Shonga was influential as the Buccaneers finished second in the Premier Soccer League in the 2017/18 season and 2018/19 campaign, while also reaching the 2018 Nedbank Cup final.
The Zambian however fell out of favor late in 2019 and struggled for game time under coaches Rhulani Mokwena and Josef Zinnbauer.
Shonga scored 16 goals and provided 16 assists in 77 appearances for the Buccaneers.
In national colors, Shonga has been capped 19 times for Zambia, during which he managed to score six goals.
