Shepolopolo have started the 2022 Africa Cup qualifying campaign with a 1-1 away draw against Malawi in Lilongwe.
The Zambian women gave away a 1-0 lead against Malawi at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Wednesday.
In this first leg of the first round, captain and striker Grace Chanda put Zambia ahead after 20 minutes after beating keeper Ruth Mhango from outside the box.
Striker Ochumba Lubanji was unfortunate to watch her strike hit the post in the 35th minute.
Malawi equalised through Sabinah Thom after 66 minutes to deny Zambians the win.
Zambia and Malawi will meet in the return leg on October 26 at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
