Police in Nyimba in Eastern Province have arrested a teacher for sexually defiling a minor.
Milambo Mweenda Mpanga aged 30 a teacher at Nyimba Boarding School is alleged to have carnally known a girl aged 10.
Police Assistant Spokesperson Chilabi Godfrey has confirmed the development to The Independent Observer in an interview.

Mr Chilabi said the incident happened yesterday June 1, 2018 around 10:00hrs at the suspect’s house at Nyimba Boarding School teachers’ compound.
“Brief facts of the matter are that to the grandmother to the minor of the same compound reported the matter to the police after noticing that her granddaughter looked physically weak and emotionally disturbed. It was at this point that the child was interviewed and later disclosed the ordeal.
“The minor was taken to Nyimba District Hospital for medical examinations and treatment. Docket of case has been opened, suspect arrested and detained in police custody. He will appear in court soon,” he said.
