Senior Chief Mukumbi calls for reinforcement of labour inspections

Minister of Labour and Social Security Brenda Tambatamba is elated at the call by His Royal Highness, Senior Chief Mukumbi of the Kaonde speaking People of Mukumbi Chiefdom in North-Western Province, to reinforce Labour inspections in that province.

Senior Chief Mukumbi insisted on the Minister to consider reinforcing Labour inspections to ensure compliance and well-being of workers in North Western Province and his Chiefdom.

Speaking during a courtesy call paid on her office yesterday by the Senior Chief, Ms Tambatamba who is also member of parliament for Kasempa Constituency, assured his Royal Highness that her Ministry through North-Western Provincial Labour Office is on ground to ensure both employees and employers work in harmony.

Ms Tambatamba reiterated that the New Dawn Government has placed great importance in working with Traditional Leaders in taking development to the people.

She said that her Ministry will intensify inspections to ensure compliance of Labour Laws in all in North-Western Province and the country at large to ensure improved working conditions in accordance with the Employments Code Act No. 3. 2019.

She said this will promote a conducive environment between employers and employees that in turn will stimulate improved productivity.

The Traditional Leader was represented by Mr Saineti Lushipi, Mr. Douglas Muluka the son to his Royal Highness and other members of the Royal Establishment.
