Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa has called on the Public Service Management Division (PSMD) to effectively make use of its strategic plan as it acts as a blueprint to foster economic development.
Mr Kangwa notes that a strategic plan is of paramount importance to the nation as it also facilitates smooth operations of the government.
The Secretary to the Cabinet was speaking during the launch of the 2022 – 2026 Strategic Plan, Service Delivery Charter and the Information, Education and Communication Strategy in Lusaka on Wednesday.
He explained that the launched strategic plan will provide a road map to government to deliver quality services to the Zambian people effectively.
Mr Kangwa added that the launch of the three documents will help in transforming the public service in the country as it will deliver on the country’s development aspirations.
He further pointed out that a strategic plan is not a matter of choice, but a necessity as it enables government institutions to align programmes to the existing national development plans and objectives.
Mr Kangwa also pointed out that the service delivery charter will enhance communication between clients and government.
He urged PSMD officers to effectively implement the three launched documents in order to realise meaningful development in the country.
And PSMD Permanent Secretary Margaret Miyoba said the strategic plan will improve service delivery to Zambians as it will act as a catalyst to development.
Ms Miyoba explained that the launched strategic plan will accelerate timely service delivery to Zambians.
