The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) has announced a proposed 10 percent increment on Road Tax.
The agency said parliament last week passed the Amendment Bill No. 47 of 2021 for 3rd reading.
RTSA Head of Public Relations Frederick Mubanga said this in a statement that the Bill proposes to revise Road Taxes payable by different categories of motor vehicles and trailers upwards by 10 percent.
Mubanga said the increment has been proposed considering the fact that Road Taxes were last adjusted over a decade ago.
He said a Toyota Vitz for example, who’s annual Road Tax Licence has been K450, will now be costing K495.
