Roan gives PF revolt vote-Chipoka Mulenga

By Staff Writer
National Democratic Congress (NDC) Copperbelt Chairperson Chipoka Mulenga says the electorate of Roan Constituency voted against the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) because of the corruption and continued sufferings of the people on The Copperbelt.

In congratulating NDC for winning the first parliamentary seat, Mr Mulenga said PF has also failed to provide leadership and representation of the mining community, civil service and agriculture sectors.

He said PF lacks respect to the sound minds that rebuke them from acts of thieving and injustice.

“The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has begun its penetration of Copperbelt and soon we shall take over on the Copperbelt with sound leadership of Chishimba Kambwili, the heavy puncher. Despite, the schemes, corruption and violent acts of the PF, their legs grew even shorter.

“A time has come when sound leadership that will offer a hope and a future to the Zambian people has come. Our people still remain in police cells without charge. We’re still in a struggle and will not rest until everyone is set free.

I urge the entire Copperbelt to get to work, get on the ground and mobilize. All structures must be active and alive at every level. On behalf of the Copperbelt leadership, I want to appreciate the support of our alliance partners, the UPND for their support,” he said.

NDC parliamentary candidate Joseph Chishala polled 8, 665 votes to beat Joel Chibuye of the ruling PF who polled 5, 533 votes.

Mwansa Chama of PAC 210 while Morgan Banda of UPPZ got 143.
A total of 150 votes were reject as invalid after a total of 14, 701 votes were cast.
