By JOHN SAKALA
RGPM Company Limited of Chingola has donated K30, 000 to Nchanga North General Hospital to facilitate the repair works of its dilapidated procurement department.

RGPM Company Ltd deals in general supply.

The company says it felt the procurement department at the hospital needed urgent rehabilitation to improve the safety of the staff working in the department.

Company Business Development Manager Derrick Mwansa said despite the challenges faced in the business front due to coronavirus, there was need to help the hospital since it is at the epicentre of the ailment.

Mr Mwansa said the donation was aimed at improving the safety of staff at the procurement department and the clients that visit the department.

“In our corporate social responsibility programs, we aim to maintain a corporate relationship with hospital since we are all suppliers to the hospital. We are a local company, with local ideas, local team and local resources. But most importantly, we realise the need to help since we belong to this community where the hospital is rendering a great service,” he said.

And in receiving the donation, Nchanga North General Hospital Acting Medical Superintendent Mark Katongo promised to put the money to good use.

Dr Katongo said the hospital appreciates noble local companies that is working in supplementing government’s efforts in better health delivery.

And in a vote of thanks Hospital Procurement Officer Gertrude Lungu thanked RGPM Company Ltd for the gesture.

Ms Lungu said the officer is bad shape but with the donation, she hopes to occupy a safe neat office.
