Chingola District Health Director Davis Mwewa says his office has received with concern an audio interview of the District Network of Zambian people living with HIV Coordinator stating that there is a lack of ARVs in health facilities in Chingola.
Dr Mwewa was reacting to the Coordinator for Network of Zambian people living with HIV in Chingola who said that its assessment has shown that almost all Government health facilities in the district are running low on ART drugs.
Dr Mwewa said this is not only misleading but also unprofessional for the journalist to post unverified information to the public without contacting his office for verification.
He said the said District Network Coordinator has no clue on the stock levels of medicines in Chingola to which only his office is privy to.
“In future I request journalists to verify such statements with relevant line ministries to avert anxiety among members of the public,” he said.
