Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Dora Siliya has said that any calls for the removal of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) Director General Mary Tshuma only be dealt with by the Ministry of Finance.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka, Ms Siliya, who is also Chief Government Spokesperson, said that she did not have any information on whether the FIC Director General will be dismissed or the board dissolved.
Ms Siliya said that the intention to create the Financial Intelligence Centre was not that it should unnecessarily alarm the public through publication of raw intelligence data.
she said the Government position was that when raw intelligence data is gathered by the centre, it should be given to the relevant government agencies.
