By JOHN SAKALA
Luapula Province Minister Nickson Chilangwa says the Rural Electrification Authority (REA) should be celebrated for having achieved a lot in Luapula Province.

Mr Chilangwa told Special Assistant to the President for Project Monitoring and Implementation Andrew Chellah and a team of REA officials who called on him at his office in Mansa that electrifying Milenge District is a huge success story.

He said REA had achieved a lot but very little was being publicised hence the need to do more.

And Mr Chilangwa has expressed with the attention that the lack of electricity in the Luena Farming Block is receiving.

And Mr Chellah said the connection of the Luena Farming Block to the national electricity grid was receiving enough attention.

He Chellah said the many agricultural developmental projects that were taking place in Luapula Province required enough electricity for them to be actualised.

And REA Head of Technical Services Patrick Mubanga said the authority had spent over K98 Million its projects in Luapula Province.

Mr Mubanga said the authority had piloted projects in Luapula which had succeeded and were now being replicated in other districts.
