Kankoyo Constituency Bufuke ward Youth Chairman Given Mwanza says the rampant theft of ZESCO service cables in Butondo area is worrying.
He has said that four households so far been affected by the vice hence the need to intervene in the matter.
Mr Mwanza said they have reported the matter several times to ZESCO but no action has been taken and the situation is getting out of hand.
He has urged the youths in the area to desist from stealing the cables so that development can be attained.
“It is sad to note that even in new Government, this system of vandalizing has continued. Like this we cannot see development as citizens,” he said.
Mr Mwanza has appealed to ZESCO and the police to cooperate so that the vice can come to an end.
