Rainbow party to contest 2021 elections

Rainbow Party Secretary General Winter Kabimba says the party will contest the August 12, general elections even though they had difficult in mobilizing the party due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking in an interview Mr Kabimba said the party has structures across the country and it will hold a central committee meeting next month.

Mr Kabimba said the objective of the meeting, is to look at the elections, picking and confirming who the candidate for the party president come August 12.

He said the party will also look into the issue of grade twelve certificates and invite applications for the Members of Parliament and Councilors.

Mr Kabimba said that he is not in support with the ECZ prescribing the qualifications for the Candidate without prescribing for the voter.

He  said the whole thing is ridiculous and it will not change anything.

“This is a third World class, even UK with a high standard in education does not have that in the Constitution, our education sector keeps on producing low grades especially for the grade twelves, so the whole thing will just worsened the situation and a lot will go to jail as they will try to forge the results,” he said.

Mr Kabimba said the party will continue with the same vision to focus on Agriculture, good health facilities and Education so that people can think objectively.

He said given the mandate, the Mining  industry will divide into two, the large scale mining which will be managed by Investors  and small scale mining  which will be manage by the government.

He said the reason for that is that large scale mining equipment are expensive and difficult to maintain.

Mr Kabimba urged Zambians to vote wisely and for the party with the manifestos for the betterment of Zambia.
