A veteran Journalist on the Copperbelt John Sakala says that Journalists should stand-up and pursue matters affecting the local people living in extractive industries in Zambia.
Speaking during a-two- day capacity building workshop for Media houses and Journalists on investigative Journalism on mining issues and human rights violations Mr Sakala said Journalist have a duty to advocate, amalgamation and bring actions.
He said that Journalists should work in collaboration with civil society organizations and the community members to Enable them save the people with quality News and information on the matters of environmental impacts on communities.
The Independent Observer proprietor said that CSOs should be consistent with their projects and advocacy on development in the communities where mining activities are taking place.
Mr Sakala said this during the ongoing Media workshop held at Da_Vinci Motel in Mufurila.
