Pupils urged to study hard as classes goes on recess

The Zambia National Union of Techers ZNUT on the Copperbelt has urged pupils to keep the flag up in terms of reading their books as classes goes on recess.

Speaking in an interview, ZNUT Copperbelt Provincial Secretary Bunda Katutu said the period pupils have been in school this term does not match with the school calendar due to covid 19.

Mr Katutu said pupils have not done much in terms of learning which is the reason why they are not closing schools, but going on recess.

He said next term will be very busy because pupils and teachers will be preparing for their mock examinations hence the need to use this period and study hard.

Mr Katutu also commended teachers who have committed themselves to teach even after the schools goes on recess in order to recover the lost time.

He has appealed to all the teachers to keep up the spirit of hard working and put in their level best during this period of covid 19.

Mr Katutu has also called on the District Education Board Secretary, Supervisors and head teachers not to force teachers who might not be willing to teach during the holiday.
