Pupil 21, dies at girlfriends apartment

A- 21-year-old pupil has died under unknown circumstances in Ndola’s North rise area at his girlfriend’s apartment.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Office Peacewell Mweemba said brief facts are that Emmanuel Kayuni the victim went to school in Mansa in January 2023 and returned from school to meet his girlfriend, a school leaver of unmarked house in Ndola.

Mr Mweemba said the victim did not inform his parents that he was back from school and residing at house number 7 Kafupi roads Northrise Ndola with his girlfriend.

He said on March 21, 2023, the victim and the girlfriend went to a named Lodge in Northrise, where they spent a night and he was complaining of heart problems.

Mr Mweemba said in the morning the two left the lodge to their apartment in Northrise, where the victim left the girlfriend at 09:00hours and went to buy tomatoes at the market.

“At around 10:00hours, he went back home, but before he could reach his apartment, he collapsed at the main gate, started fitting, and foam was coming out of his mouth.

“That is how Bright Silunsili, a gardener at the said premises, rushed to the gate to lender assistance. The girlfriend was also informed about what had happened to her boyfriend. Transport was quickly arranged by the landlord, and they managed to rush him to Ndola teaching hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival,” he said.

He said Police officers visited the scene and confirmed the report, and the body has been deposited in the Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
