Propel Nchanga Rangers, Mayor lobbies new KCM CEO

By Staff Writer
Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo has implored new Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) Chief Executive Officer Christopher Shepherd to propel Nchanga Rangers to elite soccer league.

Speaking when Shepherd had paid a courtesy call on him, Tembo said Chingola had one team in Zambian Premier league but was demoted to lower league and the team has continued to do badly.

He said when Nchanga Rangers begin to win games, the morale in the district improves and production at KCM increases.

“When you settle down please, look at our plight of football because we really love football. The team is currently on KCM sponsorship but the grants to the team are delayed thereby affecting performance.

“Find ways to jerk it up and help in ensuring that grants to the team are paid on time and on monthly basis,” he said.

And Shepherd said he would be staying in Chingola with his wife and he would want to be part of the social and entertainment community of Chingola so that he can cheer and laugh with the community.
