Promotion race remains tight in Division One

Leaders Konkola have thumped Kabwe Youth 2-0 at home in Chililabombwe on to maintain their place on the FAZ National Division 1 table.

Striker Victory Mubanga scored twice at Konkola Stadium as Blades moved to 56 points after playing 28 matches.

Kansanshi Dynamos beat Trident 1-0 away in Kalumbila in the North Western Province derby to stay second after moving to 55 points.

Defender Matthew Mumba was the hero for Kansanshi when scoring a first half goal at Sentinel Ground.

Third placed Kafue Celtic lost 2-1 to Mighty Mufulira Wanderers away at Shinde Stadium but maintained third place.

Celtic are on 49 points and seventh placed Wanderers have 42 points.

Wanderers are seven points away from the last promotion spot on the table.

Fourth placed Chambishi have 49 points followed by City of Lusaka and Nchanga Rangers 46 points and 44 points respectively.
