Prison reclaim top spot…as Buffaloes wound Warriors

By Mercy Chewe
Giant killers Prison Leopards have thumped Forest Rangers 2-0 in Kabwe to return to the top of the FAZ Super Division table.

Francis Zulu and Kobe Chipeta scored the crucial goals that helped the Zambia Correctional Service outfit to open a two point lead at the summit of the league.

Prison showed their intent to win early as Zulu’s 1st minute goal put them in front before Chipeta sealed the win 89 minutes later.

The win pushes Coach Mwenya Chipepo’s team to 23 points, two above second placed Zanaco as at Week 13.

Forest remains in fourth place with 19 points from 11 matches.

In Lusaka, new Green Buffaloes coach Justin Chinama launched his reign with a 2-0 win over Kabwe Warriors at Nkoloma Stadium.

Attacker Aubrey Chela scored two goals to welcome Chinama, who replaced Bilton Musonda this week, with victory.

13th placed Buffaloes sit on 13 points after playing 13 matches while Warriors remain on 15 points from 12 matches played.

Meanwhile, Super Division action continues on Sunday when Nkana host Zesco United in Kitwe on the same day Green Eagles will welcome Young Green Eagles to Choma.
