President Lungu to grace the 2020 National day of prayer

President Edgar Lungu Lungu is expected to grace this year’s National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance and Reconciliation which falls annually on October 18, 2020.

Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs Godfridah Sumaili says the venue of the commemoration will be at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.

Rev Sumaili said Vice President Inonge Wina will grace the event in Eastern Province.

She says the commemoration will focus on the recovery of the economy and sustenance of national peace.

Rev Sumaili says this year’s commemoration will be strictly by invitation in the wake of COVID-19 adding that Zambian Missions abroad are expected to take part within their countries of accreditation.

The Cabinet Minister was speaking when she presented a Ministerial Statement in Parliament today during the Fifth Session of the Twelfth Assembly.

She says the dress code will be formal and uniforms for respective denominations.
