The New Congress Party (NCP) president Peter Chanda says President Edgar Lungu risk contracting Corona virus as he inspecting developmental projects across the country.
Mr Chanda said claims by some sections of society alleging that President Lungu is spreading the Covid 19 through travelling should not be entertained.
He has urged people not to politicize everything that the head of state does.
Mr Chanda said they must understand that it is the people who risk their lives because once the President travels, citizens cannot be restrained from having a glimpse of him.
He said that President Lungu has a national duty to supervise developmental projects that are being undertaken around the country because if he does not do so, projects will not move fast.
Mr Chanda said the Head of State’s constituency is the whole country and as such he cannot just sit in state house and expect things to move smooth without his physical presence and that is why he cannot stop inspecting these projects.
