Roan Member of Parliament (MP) Chishimba Kabwili says President Edgar Lungu should show leadership and avoid blocking projects that are meant to help the people of Roan Constituency.
Mr Kabwili who is also National Democratic Congress Party consultant said President Lungu and government should work hard if they are to be popular in Roan Constituency or Luanshya at large.
Speaking during a press briefing held at his residence yesterday, Mr Kabwili said it’s is unfortunate that the people especially students have been denied the opportunity to have books and computers as government is blocking very initiative introduced by him.
He added that the move to block him from donating books and computers to Roan Secondary school and other school in the Constituency shows government is insecure and is scared of the their own shadow.
Mr Kabwili said President Lungu should show leadership and instruct the District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) to receive text books and computers that will help vulnerable school going children.
He added that government has failed to provide computers to the five secondary schools in his Constituency and as such pupils last year slept at schools during the exams as most schools did not have enough computers.
He noted that he is aware that government is blocking the donations because they want to dent his political image.
Mr Kabwili has since warned some known teachers in Luanshya to desist from participating into active politics.
