President Hakainde Hichilema has announced that Zambia’s legal reforms have successfully facilitated the speedy and cost-effective recovery of stolen assets and money. This year alone, the government has recovered over $30 million without incurring significant expenses.
According to President Hichilema, the prudent prosecution of cases has freed up resources for productive and social sectors. He made these remarks during a courtesy call from the Reformed Church in Zambia (RCZ) Synod at State House.
The RCZ vice Synod Moderator, Moses Mwale, pledged the Church’s support in the fight against corruption, dismissing claims that anti-corruption efforts are politically motivated. Reverend Mwale emphasized that those guilty of theft must be held accountable.
RCZ Synod Moderator Ackson Banda commended the government for interventions such as free education and the enhanced Constituency Development Fund (CDF), which address societal challenges.
