The People’s Initiative Charter (PIC) says politicians need to behave with civility and respect to win trust from voters.
PIC Zambia Chairperson Cleophas Phiri said that politicians have either abrogated their sole duty of serving the electorate at the expense of political expediency.
Mr Phiri said PIC is concerned with the direct disregard for the electorate and their lack of passion for democracy and good governance.
He said the current trend at the National Assembly and Local Government is worrying that people can decide to vote on party lines or using their stomach.
“We in the PIC call upon all Zambians to be alert and de-campaign these minions who seek to line their pockets with tax payers money and yet failing to represent the true will of the people,” he said.
