The Zambia Police Service has called on members of the public against falling prey to unscrupulous individuals purporting to be police recruitment officers.
Police Deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale said they are unscrupulous people who are calling unsuspecting people to report for training to police training schools.
Mr Mwale said on April 7, 2021 one person from Mporokoso reported to one of the police training schools after receiving a call from unknown person who claimed to be a police recruitment officer.
He said the police want to clarify to the general public that the list of candidates earmarked to undergo police training has not yet been availed to the general public and that the police will publish the names of successful candidates in the print media as well as all provincial centers.
Mr Mwale has warned individuals who are in the habit of swindling people and spreading false information that their days are numbered as police will not rest until they pay for their criminal behavior.
