Police pick the body of unknown man in Ndola

Police have picked up the body of unknown man suspected to have been murdered in Ndola’s Pamodzi area.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Sharon Zulu said the incident occurred yesterday October 2, 2022 between 01:30hours and 02:00hours in Pamodzi Township.

Ms Zulu said Bruce Chilanga of Pamodzi, a Liaison officer for Kagem Mine, reported that he found an unknown man lying dead on the road in a pool of blood.

She said that the reporter was coming from a drinking spree within Pamodzi and on his way home whilst driving his motor vehicle just a few meters away from his house he saw unknown man lying dead on the middle of the small road leading to his house.

Ms Zulu said he alerted the neighbors who also came at the scene and no one was able to identify the body.

“The matter was later reported at Pamodzi Police Post. Upon receipt of the report, Police visited the crime scene and observed that the deceased body was in a frequently used road by the people who lives within that neighborhood; the body had a cut on the left side of the head and deep cut on the back of the head with some stiches.

She said the victim was putting on a black jeans trousers and grey T-shirt and slippers.

The body was later deposited to Ndola Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.
