Police Debunk Rumors of Searching for Former President Edgar Lungu

The Zambia Police Service has dismissed rumors that they sealed off Kanele and other areas in Lundazi to search for former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

According to Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga, these reports are “entirely baseless and fabricated to mislead the nation.

Mr. Hamoonga emphasized that the police conduct operations with integrity, transparency, and adherence to the law.

He assured that no officers were dispatched to search for Lungu, and no areas in Lundazi were sealed off.

Mr. Lungu is currently in Lusaka, and the police are aware of his whereabouts.

Mr. Hamoonga urged the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified information that may cause panic and confusion.

Instead, the public is advised to rely on official communication from the Zambia Police Service for accurate information on police activities.

The police remain committed to maintaining peace, law, and order in the nation.
