Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister, Jack Mwiimbu says Government will not condone any form of lawless deliberately designed to disrupt the visit of Vice President Kamala Harris and the co-hosting of the Democratic summit.

Speaking in a statement to the media, Mr Mwiimbu said the security wings are on high alert to ensure that any law breakers are dealt with and ensure the safety of visitors.

He added that government is aware of schemes by some groups of people to bring confusion during the time of the two events.

Mr Mwiimbu said schemes like this have no justification and are being fermented by people with selfish motives bent at embarrassing the Head of State and the nation.

And US Vice President Kamala Harris will be visiting Zambia this week as part of her tour of the African continent to strengthen partnerships between the US and Zambia.

Zambia is set co-host the Democratic Summit with the United States of America, Costa-Rica, Netherlands and Korea under the theme “Free Fair and Transparent Elections as a Foundation for Democratic Governance”.
