Pictorial highlights of inter school debates held today in the Council Chamber as a precursor to the World Environment Day Celebrations to be held next week Monday, June 5, 2023.
Debaters were drawn from Mushitala, Kyapatala, Kimale and Kimakolwe Secondary Schools with the Kimale side carrying the day with 184 points while Mushitala school was the runner up with 137 points.
The event was graced by Solwezi Municipal Council Director Public Health Mr Felix Buleke who seized the opportunity to encourage schools in the district to subscribe for waste collection as one way of beating Plastic pollution.
This year’s World Environment day commemoration will be done under the theme: “Solution to Plastic Pollution”.
